• RE: Clip like in the web client, but from Platform SDK API?

We are using the merge function and clipping documents from within the same file cabinet. You could use trays instead since they use guid's like filecabinets do. Here is the code we are using.

  • RE: Clip like in the web client, but from Platform SDK API?

Are you just wanting to clip documents to other documents through the API? We have done this through 7.0, where we take a CSV file and match up information from documents inside DocuWare, then we would clip the matching documents to the back of a primary document in DocuWare. If we tried clipping to the front it would change the index data and the DWDOCID of the primary document, so we went with clipping to the back.

  • RE: Reassign based on Out of Office

We ended up using a web service to read the Out of Office status from the database then populate a field with true or false. I then had conditions that check for the true or false and then assign the correct backup user.

  • RE: Reassign based on Out of Office

I guess that is the way I will have to do it, with as many steps that the client has this may take a bit. Thanks for helping!

EDIT: One question though, how is the system going to know if someone is out of the office?

  • Reassign based on Out of Office

We have a client that uses workflow and they are wanting to have the workflow assign it to a backup AP Processor if the primary is out of the office. The problem is not every primary processor has a backup processor. I have created a substitution rule and list, with the users that actually have backup users.

In the workflow manager I know I can assign it directly, using the substitution rule, but if a user doesn't have a backup then it should stay in that users task list. Is this possible?

    Thanks
  • User Long Name

Where is this information found in the database? I know I can predefined an index field with the users long name, which I suppose is their First and Last name?

    Thanks,
    Seth
  • Notes history

I have a client that is using DocuWare workflow. They want the users to enter notes into each decision, then when it comes to the next decision the new user can see the previous users notes. I created a Notes text field in the file cabinet, in DocuWare it can be any limit on characters, yet in the workflow manager the standard text field is limited to 255 characters. I then created a keyword area in the file cabinet and it is limited to 255 characters, yet if I create a keyword field in workflow manager it can be any character length. Seems like in the workflow manager the text field and keyword field are opposite of what they can be in the file cabinet.

With these limitations I am unable to show all of the notes, or in the workflow take all the notes a user wants to enter. The max is 255 if they are entering into a text field.

Is there something I am missing, or is there a better way of showing a notes history in the workflow?

    Thanks
  • RE: Searching with dynamic dates

Update: We are using the URL Creator to do this. Thanks
  • RE: Searching with dynamic dates

Update: Client is on 7.1 is there a module that you have to have to be able to use lists?
  • Searching with dynamic dates

We have a client that needs to look up documents that are 30 days old, based on the store date. They were able to do this in Fortis but now we cannot find a way to do it in DocuWare. Is there a work around for this?

    Thanks
