General

in IIS Manager:
- Register the certificate. Server certificates > Import
- Change the binding of the IIS Web Site to be accessible over HTTPS.
- Remove the binding for HTTP (optional).
If you use a self-signed certificate, ensure your CA is specified as a trusted root CA on all client pcs.
Import the certificate of your root CA in the certificate stores of all computer and user accounts in your domain using GPOs. You'll find further information here:

DocuWare

Change the URL in the Web Connection section Internal address and HTTP-Root directory
If http is not possible in general, change the "LocalWebServices" address in the file "C:\ProgramData\DocuWare\ServerConfig\dwmachine.config"

Is there a procedure for configuring SSL for on-prem deployments? Presently we are running 7.2 all over port 80. When the update to 7.7. runs it indicates SSL must be used. That's fine, but there is no process I can find for doing so. The above instructions are simplistic at best and incomplete at worst. I have emulated the upgrade process in a virtual environment and even after following the above the end result is still a broken system. The clients are all pointing at http so either they must all be uninstalled prior to the update and reinstalled once the update is complete, or there may be a way of redirecting all http to https which I have found some bits here and there about that. Ultimately that process also led to a non-working system. Dave, I remember you spending weeks in our office when you were with Westbrook. Nice to see you still kicking around. Any tips appreciated.
