  • 6.9 to 6.12 upgrade question

    Fri, 11 May 2018 11:56:30 GMT – 6.9 to 6.12 upgrade question-1526046990

I'm new to Docuware installs, but familiar with Docuware in general.

I see mention of the upgrade simulation.  How would I start the upgrade in simulation mode?

Never mind, I found it several screens deep in the installer ...

I'm sorry for the delay Chris.  I missed you post with the request.  I work for Claims Recovery Financial Services, LLC.  Should I just open the support request?

This site complains when I try to attach the XML that got copied to the secure directory for the user Scanner.

I attached 3 screen captures instead.

Thanks Phil.  I have logged in as the user that was used to configure the Import jobs.  The screen captures are from that user's desktop.  The userconfig.xml file I mentioned in my original post is located at C:\ProgramData\DocuWare/Desktop\Secure\S-1-5-21-1628578475-681897818-3568477397-1466.

Is this what you are referring to?  Even after I changed the Docuware Desktop Connection to go to the dev server, the URLs (5, I think) in this file still pointed to the production server.

  • Import Jobs missing

    Hello,

I am tasked with creating virtual server copies of our production environment in preparation to upgrade Docuware from 6.9 to 6.12.  I have been able to get the Authentication, Content, and Workflow services configured correctly and they are operating as expected.  We have an additional server with third party software for stapling and other processes.  These two functions have also been reconfigured to work in this development arena.  My last area to complete is Docuware Desktop Services Imports.  I cannot seem to get the jobs to appear, even though the Import configurations exist.  I have made sure that the desktop connection was changed to the development Auth/Content server, located two XML configuration files associated with Imports (hotfolders.xml and userconfig.xml) that contain references to the production server URL.  These have been modified so the URL is the development server - matching that established for the destop services connection.  I'm not sure what path to follow to get the jobs that are in the hotfolders.xml to appear on the desktop.  Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

DWDBException: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server

We are preparing to upgrade to 6.12 and have copied our server to a VM clone in a test environment.  The Authentication, Content, and Workflow services all start correctly and present no errors.  The web serer is running.  When a user attempts to log in using Docuware credentials (not Active Directory), we get this error.  The SQL server is accessible for remote connections.
