Behavior:

Sometimes data from a document might be stored in a file cabinet as a data record before the document image is available. For example, an invoice might be imported from an ERP database by Autoindex, but the document hasn’t been scanned yet.

Solution:

Instead of indexing the document manually, you can clip it to a data record, and the scanned document will replace the data record while inheriting its index entries.

Enable split pane view in the viewer.

In one pane locate the data record in the file cabinet. In the other pane, open the document tray that contains the document image. Drag the document from the tray onto the data record.

Click the clip button.

The data record will be replaced by the document, and all the previously indexed entries are applied to the document.
