Behavior:
If I try to access Fortis I receive the message “Unable to determine product configuration”.

Solution:
If you are attempting to access Fortis and are receiving this message you will need to check the following:
  1. Verify the Computer Browser service is started on the server.
  2. Verify that windows user has the proper permissions to the Imaging folder (Fortis and FortisDT are subdirectories of this folder).
  3. Verify the base.ini file in the Fortis directory is pointing to the right location and is a network path, NOT a mapped drive.
  4. Browse to the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Westbrook Technologies, Inc.\Fortis\InstallInfo
  5. Verify that the Path value in this folder is a UNC path i.e. \\servername\imaging\fortis . NOT C:\imaging\Fortis
  6. Browse to the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Westbrook Technologies\Fortis\InstallInfo
  7. Verify that the Path value in this folder is a UNC path i.e. \\servername\imaging\fortis . NOT C:\imaging\Fortis
  8. Check the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Westbrook Technologies, Inc.\Fortis\InstallInfo
  9. Verify that the Path value in this folder is a UNC path i.e. \\servername\imaging\fortis . NOT C:\imaging\Fortis
