Question:
Can DocuWare On-Premise be installed on an Azure-hosted environment?

Answer:
Since Microsoft Azure offers a vast range of possible configurations and features, we can only provide minimal support for those features that have gone through our QA process.
Currently, this is limited to one or more Windows Server VMs on which DocuWare is installed.

Cloud-native features like Azure Blob Storage are currently not supported. Since Azure Virtual Networks do not support multicast messages, DocuWare's MSMQ will need to be adapted to use the Azure Service Bus if several DocuWare servers with distributed services or even load balancing (https://knowledgecenter.docuware.com) are planned. In this case, however, we cannot guarantee the same functionality we expect from On-Premises systems outside of an Azure Environment.

The database can be installed in the same or a separate VM; however, we do not support Azure SQL
(Among possible other limitations of this, the SQL Backup command cannot be used in this setup, meaning during the update, no database simulation is possible).
KBA is applicable for On-premise Organizations ONLY.
