Scenario:
When installing DocuWare, where the DocuWare installation site was manually created in IIS, we get an error when the setup tries to install the app pools. While further investigating this issue, the following error was found in DocuWare.Setup.Server.log file.
When installing DocuWare, where the DocuWare installation site was manually created in IIS, we get an error when the setup tries to install the app pools. While further investigating this issue, the following error was found in DocuWare.Setup.Server.log file.
"Failed to add duplicate collection element '/DocuWare'"
Solution:
This error occurs when the entry of "DocuWare" in the Host name (URL) during the creation of the site in IIS. Adding "/DocuWare" to the end of the URL must not be included, as it would result in the described error.
Please only use the domain name part of the URL when creating the site in IIS.
To address this, ensure that the Host name only contains the SERVERNAME within your site in IIS.
