Scenario:
When launching StorageRobot, or performing any tasks in StorageRobot, the following error is shown:

"...Object reference not set to an instance of an object."


 
Solution:
To alleviate this error message, please refer to the following guide;

  1. Close the Storage Robot UI.
  2. Make a copy of the existing C:\Program Data\StorageRobot\DefaultConfiguration.xml file and save it to another location as a backup.
  3. Delete the original C:\Program Data\StorageRobot\DefaultConfiguration.xml file.
  4. Restart the Storage Robot UI.

Please do not delete the existing DefaultConfiguration within StorageRobot UI. There must be at least one Configuration left. If you delete all existing configurations and close and reopen the app, you may encounter this error.
Note: If this issue still persists, please reinstall .NET 4.8 and then reattempt the initial procedure.
