Behavior:
Background Process Server light turns green, but then turns red again after several seconds.
Cause:
This is a symptom of a connectivity issue with Settings Service, which is part of the web platform.
Solution:
Find the URL of settings service by going into DocuWare Administration and find the internal address for the web connection. Copy and paste it into a web browser, and append it with /Settings/SettingsService.svc.
For example, if the internal URL is "http://DWSERVER/DocuWare/", you would use "http://dwserver/DocuWare/Settings/SettingsService.svc"
The web browser should provide an error message that will allow you to identify and troubleshoot the connectivity issue. Once it is resolved, restart the Background Process service and it will stay on.
