An end user has complained that since upgrading the system from 6.9 to 7 the ability to read bar codes with 1 click indexing no longer works. I was not aware that this was a feature of click capture and after trying it myself the results are mixed. I have been able to read a bar code correctly on the phone wizard invoice that comes with the sample file cabinet. But I have not been able to read the one on the US-Steel invoice.

Is this a feature of 1 click indexing? Does it depend on having a Bar Code & Forms license?

Clues for the clueless appreciated,

I am using the same example and having no problem with the solution working.

Make certain that the field and the data match types other than that I have just tested it in the Virtual and it worked fine.

Barcodes are pretty sketchy with the OCR and DocuWare. Maybe I there is something that needs to be changed within the OCR settings but reading barcodes is very random with DocuWare. I have converted most of my clients to use QR and have had much more luck with that. Again, could just be me not configuring OCR settings correctly but I would think OCR should be able to read basic 39 or 128 barcodes out of box.

Hi Steve,

actually the Barcode One Click Indexing is part of the Barcode & Forms license AND will only be available, if the file is an image file (also PDF with image aka scanned document) imported via the Desktop Apps.

If this is not the case you could in most cases One Click Index the number which is shown below the barcode.
