  • Time submitted

Tue, 02 Oct 2018 15:09:00 GMT – How to autofill time submitted on a form?-1538497911

Forms only supports a Date field at present. You need a DateTime field for this. The closest you can get is to look at the store date of the document as it contains the time.

Tue, 02 Oct 2018 14:09:25 GMT – Deleting documents - only deleting half each time-1536083374

The process for deleting documents in a result list has been re-engineered and will be correct in DocuWare 7.1

Mon, 01 Oct 2018 10:25:40 GMT – Administrator no longer has access to newly created Document Trays-1538394815

    Savio,
I am sure this is by design.

  • Asiign to based on a user.

Fri, 28 Sep 2018 14:47:33 GMT – Assign To based on a dropdown selection on form-1538148828

Unfortunately to do this with DocuWare Users and Groups will produce a WHERE clause that will not be able to be parsed by Workflow Manager.
Therefore, create a small table to hold the location and the DocuWare user name.
In the Workflow, create a location variable and a manager variable.

Use the External Data function to assign the user name to the manager variable.

  • Fulltext and Java Updates.

    Thu, 27 Sep 2018 20:03:54 GMT – Java update and full-text server-1538072318

I really do not think it matters too much these days if a Java Update is installed. Keep in mind that we distribute each version of DocuWare with a specific version of the JRE. Running Solr on a different version may lead to problems with Fulltext. So, regardless that updates have to be installed, if there is any mis-behavior from fulltext use Tim's guide above to reset Solr back to the JRE that was shipped with the version of DocuWare installed - OR - if it is running the released version then set it to the new one.
Recently I observed a 6.12 Solr running an updated JRE when I was troubleshooting other fulltext issues. So I set it back to the released version. In retrospect, it was not the root of the problem so I could have left it running the update. Not an exact science.

  • Email clients.

    Thu, 27 Sep 2018 14:39:39 GMT – Thunderbird-1538064888

The only email client supported with a connector is MS Outlook. We have the Connect to Mail module for connecting to mail servers.

  • SQL Server Upgrade

    Tue, 25 Sep 2018 11:13:19 GMT – Upgrade SQL Server? Gotchas?-1537652378

    Joe,
The only gotcha when upgrading the database is to ensure that it is a supported DB version for your version of DocuWare.

6.11 supports MSSQL versions to 2016. So you can go to that.

  • DocuWare 4 documents with DocuWare7

    Mon, 24 Sep 2018 12:26:00 GMT – DW4 documents in DW7-1537798253

Under no circumstances should you upgrade your system to DocuWare 7 with DocuWare 4 documents. You must wait for the next release when they are supported. And no, no upgrade will convert any documents to PDF. DocuWare does not, and never has done that. The documents will remain in your system as TIFFs or whatever document type they were stored at.
