  • Text Extraction Failed: OCR Problem

    Hello,
since about a week I have a big problem during import from trays or using Intelligent Indexing. This happens when document to be imported is not already searchable. After import or after Intelligent Indexing has finished appears a message on the right upper side of DW web client saying 'Text Extraction failed'.
Also appears another message, that you can see in the attached screenshot, notifying about a problem of Nuance component. Something is missed. Going furtherly in path mentioned by the message, effectively seems that a directory is missed....So strange...

I saw a KB article, specifically KBA-35792, explaining a long procedure to uninstall and reinstall OCR components.
Is it the right and only way to solve this ??

For me it's mandatory to solve this problem....
I'm actually on 6.12 on premise. I saw that KBA-35792 refers for 6.10 maximum. I don't know If I can apply this to my release.

Please do you have any suggestion ?

    Thanks

  • RE: Full Text Search with FC Index Profiles: performance problem

    Hello Phil,
    thank you for answer.
But what do you mean exactly ?
Add a full text index in SQL, for example ?

    Thanks

  • Full Text Search with FC Index Profiles: performance problem

    Hello everybody,
I'm using 6.12 on prem in my company. We have basically 2 FC used. Bigger one with more than 1 million files.
I have more than one hundred users. Users log in with their access code. And this code is the key for the index profile in the bigger FC.
So users views only their files, obviusly. Also same index profile has filter for document type.
With DWADMIN user, that has no limitations, full text search is very speed, neverthless big amount of files.
With normal users speed is very low. If usually with DWADMIN takes few seconds for a search, for normal users most times goes in timeout.
Or in the best case, takes more than 20/30 seconds.

Do you have any idea of such a behaviour ?
Is there something I could do to improve performance ?

You know, in many cases, full text help users to find statements that were not possible to index...

Any help and suggestion is appreciated.

    Thanks

  • RE: Docuware Request temp path

    Hello Phil,
the problem is that Docuware writes first in a temporary location all docs and then moves to final storage set in Request configuration.
It doesn't write directly to the defined storage.....

    Thanks

  • Docuware Request temp path

    Hello everybody,
is there any chance to change path for Docuware Request temporary writing?
Actually it writes in a subfolder of ProgramData in C. I have to create an USB support for a customer. Its  archive has about 1 million files.
Docuware is installed on premise. Version 6.12
Problem is that C disk is an SSD drive of 256GB with 50GB free at the moment and temp space is near 90GB.....
Do you have any idea ?

    Thanks
