Run a browse query on the document type that you are attempting to import to.

Select a couple of the documents.

Select File>Export Data…

Select browse to find a name and location for the exported document

You have the option to select XML or ASCII delimted. If you also want to include the image, select Modify> Export documents.

The file that was created is now an exact template for the format and syntax of importing data and docs.
