Question:
I want to redirect all HTTP requests to HTTPS. How do I set up such a configuration?

Answer:

  1. Download and install the IIS extension "URL rewrite" on the web server:
    https://www.iis.net/downloads/microsoft/url-rewrite
  2. Download and run the BAT file "add_url_rewrite_http_to_https.bat" with elevated privileges on the web server:
    add_url_rewrite_http_to_https.zip

The BAT file creates resp. extends the web.config of the Default Web Site (default path: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\web.config). This means all requests to the Default Web Site, that are using HTTP are automatically redirected to HTTPS now.

  • Please note that all requests to Default Web Site website are redirected to HTTPS, regardless if you call DocuWare or any other page or application, which is installed in Default Web Site!
  • Run the BAT file only, if HTTPS (SSL) is set up correctly and DocuWare was installed in Default Web Site! If this is not the case, please contact the DocuWare Support.
