Behavior:
Smart Connect does not correctly take text shots from Chromium-based web browsers such as Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome. Users may also encounter issues with text extraction when using these browsers.
Solution:
To ensure proper functionality when taking screenshots with Smart Connect, please refer the following guidelines:
- Use OCR Toolkit for Screenshots:
- The OCR (Optical Character Recognition) toolkit is recommended for text extraction while taking screenshots. It is compatible with newer systems and provides better functionality with modern applications.
- Browser Compatibility:
- Chromium-based browsers such as Edge and Chrome may encounter issues with Smart Connect technologies such as Text Extraction. Switching to a non-chromium browser such as Firefox can resolve these issues.
- Legacy Toolkit for Older Systems:
- Systems running older versions of DocuWare software can continue to use the other toolkits available for text extractions.
- These older toolkits may not perform well with newer systems but are suitable for previous applications developed using technologies like C/C++, WinForms, and smaller WPF.
