How to ensure that an index field is not empty when storing a document?
Solution:
For DocuWare Versions till 6.11:
Enable the option "Not empty" in the file cabinet field level.
Starting with DocuWare Version 6.12, this can be found in the Web Settings and is called "Required".
Now you need to create or modify a file cabinet profile that does not have administrative rights or owner rights. In the example below a new file cabinet profile called "Store FC Profile" has been created.
NOTE: In the example the profile has been assigned directly to the user. In some case when you need to give these rights to a group of users you will have to assign this profile to a role and then assign users or groups to roles.
Now, rights in DocuWare are accumulative, therefore, if the user belongs to multiple profiles then rights will be added. Likewise, if one profile gives and the other denies then it no rights will take place (common mistake).
You can also view user rights by going to the user itself and selecting "Show User Rights" and see what sort of effective rights it has.
