ODBC
When connecting to a MySQL, MSSQL, or Oracle database use the built-in DocuWare connectors.
Up to DocuWare 6.12, we used 32 bit ODBC data sources. With 7, we use 64 bit data sources. What version of DocuWare are you using?Phil Robson

Autoindex
Usually, if you need data from multiple tables and the query is complex, you create a View in the database, and point AIX at the view.

DocuWare 7 Workflows
Jon,
The only change that I am aware of in regard to error notifications is that previously if the workflow encountered an error then the Controller of the workflow would be notified. The problem with that is the Controller was not neccesarily the right person to be notified since it is the Designer of the workflow who is in the best position to decide what is the best thing to do.
I do not believe that there is any change to the normal error branching that is already in place and available.Phil Robson

Document Trays.
Savio,
From DocuWare 6.11 onward, Intelligent Indexing is defined against a file Cabinet Store Dialog, not a Tray. Therefore, you define Intellix accordingly, and then instruct the user to attach their tray to the dialog you specify. While doing that they can also add the DocuWare administrator to the tray if required. This is a security measure.Phil Robson

WFM Roles.
I guess there was more to the question. I was thinking about my answer, and the only part of it that I am not sure about is after adding a user to a role, then does that user get included in the next task along. That aside, it is not practical to have DocuWare traverse every workflow instance in progress and check for changes from any aspect of DocuWare Administration. Certainly once a task is allocated to users, it cannot be changed. The tasks will have to be manually re-assigned. Even subsitution lists will not move a users current task away from them once allocated unless it becomes subject to some overdue rule or what have you.
Of course, if it was me faced with moving a lot of tasks from one user to another, depending on the circumstances, I would either make the other user a Controller temporarily, or have them log in as the first user. But I'd only do that if re-assignment was completely onerous for some reason.

Workflow Manager
Because when a WF instance is created, the role members are recorded against the instance. Only new instances will reflect the role additions / changes.

Import File Cabinet XML
Steve,
This does not sound right. Can you open an SR and provide the XML file?Phil Robson
