  • RE: Changing File Name of documents within clipped documents

Tue, 27 Apr 2021 14:51:19 GMT – Changing File Name of documents within clipped documents
    Thanks for this, Matthias!
I had posted a similar question last week in regards to renaming of documents, as well as having issues with renaming clipped documents.  Where we are looking for a solution to rename filenames to specific index data values.  Link to the post here: Renaming Document / Filename from Document's Index Values · DocuWare Support Portal

    Thanks!
  • Renaming Document / Filename from Document's Index Values

Thu, 22 Apr 2021 21:21:17 GMT – Renaming Document / Filename from Document's Index Values
Apologies if this has been asked or answered before, I didn't find anything in my search.

We have some users asking if the filenames for documents can automatically be renamed based on multiple index field values.

The issue is with the filename of the attachment on the email draft when using DocuWare's > Send... > as PDF where most of the documents were never renamed, and still have the original, default filename from when they were imported / scanned into their tray (eg. 'Scan #022.pdf').  Ideally, we'd like the attachment's filename to be something more like 'Contract - <StorageDate>.pdf'.
I've found that users can rename the filename while the document is in the tray which would be a manual way to work around this, but was hoping there might be a more automated approach to this.

    Thanks!
