Just upgraded Fortis 2.5 to 6.8. Now the client can't print to Fortis to the Database or an inbasket. They get a dialog box that asks for an output file name and they can only send to a file folder. I know we added a Fortis Color printer abd there is now no ntprint application that I could find.

Is this a normal behavior in 6.8 or is there something we can do to fix this?

Tim - Is the Login button greyed out?  If so make sure the Path variables in the following registry locations is pointing to the Fortis directory on the server:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Westbrook Technologies\Fortis\InstallInfo\Path

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Westbrook Technologies, Inc.\Fortis\InstallInfo\Path

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Westbrook Technologies, Inc.\Fortis\InstallInfo\Path

This one is not there at all. The other two were, except that on had the local folder c:\Program files as the path.

It seems to be working no. I did run NTPRINT manually on the server though. Don't know if that was why it started working.

One thing though, it does not retain the login info. The user has to login each time. Is that normal or is there a way to save that info?

Thanks

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Westbrook Technologies, Inc.\Fortis\InstallInfo\Path

This is the one not there.

Tim - Have the user uncheck the "Auto Logout" box before submitting it to the printer.  That will leave it logged in for future prints.

No Auot Logout box.

Using the Color Print for Fortis Printer. That is the only printer available except PDF printer which we don't use.

Is there something missing here?

It sounds like the Fortis Document printer did not get installed properly.  Try running the setup.exe from the \Fortis\NTPrint folder.  You will then have to update the registry entries I mentioned earlier in this thread to point to the Fortis directory.

OK getting closer. I ran the install and removed the printer. Ran again and installed the printer again. Now all three registry entries are there and the Fortis Document printer is there. The Inbasket option is still greyed out along with the Auto Logout button.

The regisrty entries should point to the unc path or the local path?
