Behavior:
After an upgrade to DocuWare version 7.3 or higher, when trying to configure a select list for a field you are met with a never ending spinning circle.

Solution:
This is due to Select Lists not processing properly during the upgrade. In order to fix this please do the following:

  1. Open your "Indexing Assistance" module
  2. Go into each select list and click "Save" where the button is active and applicable
  3. Go back to your file cabinet field and configure select lists, the spinning circle should now be gone.

KBA applicable for both Cloud and On-premise Organizations.

  • While effective, and able to resolve our issue, As a customer with well over 1,000 select list, this process was exceedingly inconvenient. 
  • I agree with Michael's comment above! Same issue here--tons of select lists I am going to have to perform this on after upgrading from 7.0 to 7.4!
  • Just some clarification on this, based on my DW Support from earlier today. In your select lists, choose FIXED, and then proceed to go through each (my DW has over 100), Edit them, and click save (sometimes Save will be ghosted out:
  • going through the fixed lists and saving the ones where the save button was enabled fixed this for me.
