Which import configurations work with field mask?

Answer:
By product design, field masks can only be utilized when a document is manually stored.
Storage events that occur automatically, such as imports, scanning, or Connect to Mail importations, would not be able to use field masks.
 
KBA is applicable for both Cloud and On-Premise Organizations.
