Question:
Why does Workflow Designer display a validation error?
Answer:
It usually does that after your system got upgraded to a new major version of DocuWare because Workflow Manager got new requirements.
It can also occur if there was a misconfiguration.
The validation error doesn't affect running instances, but you can't publish a new version of Workflow until the error is resolved.
Question:
How to solve a validation error?
Answer:
Once you opened an affected Workflow in Designer, you can expand a list of validation errors on the left side of the screen. Read each one carefully, it will tell you which activity is impacted or what to check.
For example: In the past, DocuWare introduce a feature to change the result-list, that is connected to the task-list of a workflow.
So, there was a validation that asked to select a result list, so you had to open the task-list in the top menu-bar and check the dropdown for result list.
