How do you disable document locking for Workflow Parallel Tasks?

Answer:
For DocuWare systems in which parallel tasks are used heavily (100 users in a short time period, for example), the default locking behavior might cause process inefficiencies.

Normally, while a user is working on a task, the document and all other tasks are locked until the user confirms their task.
To change this behavior, please do the following, 
 

  1. From the DocuWare server, browse out to C:\Program Files\DocuWare\Web\Platform (Drive could be different depending on how DocuWare was installed)
  2. Open the Web.config file, then search for the key "SkipLockParallelTask"
  3. This will need to be uncommented and then set to True so that locking for parallel tasks is turned off.

With this change made, the locking behavior will be turned off so that users can access their parallel tasks simultaneously
