I want to upgrade a 6.9 system to version 7 and also move to a new server. I also would like to take advantage of the V2 version of the DW internal database. Can I run the V7 installer on the new server for Database only and then restore to it? I don't think I've seen a way to install V7 components individually.

Thanks,

No you can't. I have not even looked at that with 7. I would upgrade the existing server to DocuWare 6.12. Install DB V2 from 6.12 on the new server, along with Authentication server. Backup and restore the 6.12 database from the old server. Drop the empty databases on the new server, restore the production db's on the new server. Run 6.12 setup on the new server, replace the auth server and install all other services.

Then upgrade the new server to 7.
Got it? :)

Addendum! You coulld follow the above procedure with 7. Simply run the database V2 msi file from the 7 distribution. Apart from that follow the steps outined above. It is important to upgrade the existing production server, then move to the new server.
