Where are workflows stored?

I have a customer that is using workflow designer and someone went in and deleted the workflow.  Is there a way to get the workflow back?  Where are they stored?

give us some more details please. Is it a cloud System or an on-Premise system?
In case of cloud, the DW Support should be able to help.
If it is on premise, the database records should still exist and either you or DW Support could rebuild it from there.

It is on premise, talked with support and we restored dwworkflowengine table to get back the previous version.  Thanks.
