workflow "Wait for Event" can take 15 minutes to trigger

I just thought I'd let you know (just to spare you the grief) that if you're using the workflow 'Wait for Event' it can take over 15 minutes to trigger when the conditions are met - it's definitely not instant.  This is in an on-premise 7.4 system.
