Behavior:
When attempting to run a workflow, it stops with the following error message within the workflow history:
 
"Cannot lock document 'xxx' because it is already locked from another user 'xxx'"



Answer: 

This behavior occurs when the workflow attempts to write to a document already locked by another user in DocuWare. 
To prevent this issue, ensure that the document is run through a workflow and is not open in another location within DocuWare.
