When there are a largish amount of thumbnails that need to be generated we're noticing that sometimes DW will give up on rendering the thumbnail and simply show the DW logo.  For some people we're seeing 1 out of 5 thumbnails exhibiting this behaviour, but for others it will be 1 out of 20-30.  Refreshing the result list or document tray doesn't help, though sometimes redo-ing the search will.  Is there an IIS setting or something we can tweak that will force DW to generate the thumbnail, regardless of how long it takes?

Same behavior at my client. Would need an answer to this question aswell. And in addition it would also be interesting to have the possibility to manipulate the size of Thumbnails generated. DW doesn´t offer this in the settings.  Is there a work around?

The thumbnails are SVG based and than made to 80px PNG´s. But why can´t we load them larger?

At the end of each Thumbnail Url I always find       /Thumbnail?v=636517173869027775&annotations=True"    I wonder what this Figure stand for. It´s not the ID. How is the v=6365...  related to Annotations? Or is this connected to size and quality?

Is there anybody out there who managed to tweak the size and quality of the Thumbs?

Best Regards

Thomas

It seems to me that the rendering engine could be timing out. It is hard to say without inspecting your system and looking at the server load.
I am no sure if there is a timout setting that can be changed, and even if there were it might only mask another problem that might be addressed. There is no possiblity to change the thumbnail size. The numbers in the thumbnail URL is it's identifier.
