Question:
For security reasons, I want to access the web client via an encrypted URL. How would I work with an encrypted URL?

Solution:
To work with an encrypted URL, a passphrase must be entered. An encrypted URL is required for automatic login to the Web Client via URL, as this URL must contain the user name and password. The passphrase is used to create a symmetrical key pair for the encryption and decryption of the URL. You can create a passphrase using DocuWare version 7.4 by doing the following:

  1. From the DocuWare Web Client, go to the Configurations page.
  2. From the Configurations page, click on the Organization Settings plugin.
  3. Click on the Security tab, then choose the "Change passphrase" hyperlink.

  4.  You'll then be prompted to type in a new passphrase.

NOTE: The passphrase must be between 12 and 16 characters long. However, the encryption passphrase must not contain any of the following characters: { } % ^ " ! % ` \ < > |

  5. Once you've typed in your new passphrase, click "OK" and then "Save" in the top right-hand corner. This passphrase will be active for your system.

KBA is applicable for both Cloud and On-premise Organizations.
