After changing from a workgroup to a domain or a change of the domain name, DocuWare services are not running anymore

Behavior:
DocuWare server installation was done on a workgroup but after changing to a domain name Authentication, Content and Workflow Server are not running anymore.

Solution:
When a DocuWare system has been installed on a machine its environment is stored in the database. Therefore, if the services are restarted it will not start because the environment information stored in the database is not matching the actual environment anymore.

Use a database tool to access the database and make the necessary changes.
If you use MySQL or MSSQL the table name is called DWMACHINEID and is located in the DWSYSTEM database. In Oracle all DocuWare database objects are under a single schema.
In this table, there is a column called “domain”. You need to change those values to match the new environment and restart the services again.
