A version 6.6 system customer is complaining about slow performance when storing documents and loading images in the viewer. There is plenty of space on the server drives, it is an 8 core system with 8 GB of RAM. There are 677,074 documents currently in the data table and the system was re-started last night.

We have noticed processor spikes of up to 100% every few seconds that seem to be associated with MySQLd-nt.exe and Tomcat8.exe. This seems logical as when each document gets stored it would require a response from both of these services.

Is this behavior expected and would it cause a noticeable slowdown in performance? The customer did not complain until 2 days ago. Prior to that all seemed well.

Thanks,

Steve,
Has anyone ever adjusted the size of the MySQL transaction files, or the memory allocation for MySQL? I'll bet not. What you have is fulltext text shots being written to MySQL, which is likely seriously undersized at this stage.

Please open a Support Request for furthwer investigation and correction.

Thanks Phil. I was wrong about the version, it is 6.9 not 6.6. But assuming this is irrelevant, I take your point. The system was installed years ago and has grown significantly since. I will open an issue with support.

Thanks again,
