we are using the clip feature in docuware ..we will sometimes clip an email to a document that has been filed ..can you undo a clip once it is clipped

No. You would need to copy the document to  a tray, unclip it there and restore it as a new document.

Keith, if you turn on versioning, you can check it out. Then unclip the document and check it back in. The caviot is that the deleted document would have to be the second document for this to work or you can't check back in.

Another side effect is that once you check out / check in document - you are not able any longer to edit this document from file cabinet using edit button (pencil icon). For example you have a word document clipped and once you did check-out / check-in in order to remove some other clipped files then you will not be able to edit this word clipped document anymore - only option will be to do again check-out and check-in.
