Question:
What is to be considered when printing PDF files using DocuWare Printer?

Answer:
When a PDF is printed via DocuWare Printer, a new PDF is created. This can result in damage to the so-called text shot; as a result, only rectangles are read out.

Note: Printing PDF documents via DocuWare Printer is not supported!

It may work in some cases, but 100 percent support is only available with DocuWare Import!

Possible options:

  1. Store the PDF document via DocuWare Import. This should always be the first option to be considered.
  2. Install and use DocuWare Printer PS. It offers the same range of functions as DocuWare Printer but is based on a different technology.
    You can download it here:
    DocuWare Printer PS
  3. Print the PDF as an image with Acrobat Reader.
    Please see the following link:

Note: Method 3 results in the text being read out using OCR, i.e., the processing time increases slightly.

    IMPORTANT: We do not
guarantee 100 percent support for options 2 and 3!

KBA is applicable to both Cloud and On-premise Organizations.
