Question:
What is to be considered when printing PDF files using DocuWare Printer?
Answer:
When a PDF is printed via DocuWare Printer, a new PDF is created. This can result in damage to the so-called text shot; as a result, only rectangles are read out.
Note: Printing PDF documents via DocuWare Printer is not supported!
It may work in some cases, but 100 percent support is only available with DocuWare Import!
Possible options:
- Store the PDF document via DocuWare Import. This should always be the first option to be considered.
- Install and use DocuWare Printer PS. It offers the same range of functions as DocuWare Printer but is based on a different technology.
You can download it here:
DocuWare Printer PS - Print the PDF as an image with Acrobat Reader.

Note: Method 3 results in the text being read out using OCR, i.e., the processing time increases slightly.
IMPORTANT: We do not guarantee 100 percent support for options 2 and 3!
