Question:
Can a self-signed certificate be used with the DocuWare Mobile app in an On-premise environment?

Answer:
Customers may encounter issues when attempting to use self-signed certificates with the DocuWare Mobile App. Although self-signed certificates can be set as a CA Certificate on a device and may work within a device's browser, the DocuWare Mobile App does not have access to the device's certificate store and will not recognize these as trusted.

For setting up HTTPS with DocuWare Mobile Apps, please refer to the instructions, which detail the use of certificates with a root authority provided in the official documentation: DocuWare HTTPS Setup.

Commencing in DocuWare version 7.6 and above, certificates without a complete trust chain cannot be used with the DocuWare Mobile Apps. The certificate requires root authority, which does not exist with a self-signed certificate. With the Let's Encrypt certificate, the system must be online, but the services do not need to be available externally.

KBA is applicable for On-premise Organizations ONLY.
