• Is it possible to render multimedia files without downloading them?

Multimedia files (mp3 and similar formats) cannot be rendered in the web client. Clicking Edit will download the files and run them with the default application assigned to the specific file format in the workstation. That is ok for some situations but the local copy might be left orphaned (I have not confirmed this is so).

A client will not allow the files to be downloaded to the local workstations, so the files would have to be rendered within a plug-in or web viewer of some sort, as in youtube. Has anyone done this or have any suggestions? It might even be possible to store the files in DocuWare (this is a Cloud installation) but then search for and/or display them in a pop up window. Perhaps Make of Power Automate could be used.

    Any suggestions will be welcome.
  • Splitting with IDP (Natif.ai) before or after storing in DocuWare

IDP can split documents intelligently during capture ands Storage Robot can also be useful during capture. On the other hand, can splitting be done using a workflow and calls to IDP on previously stored documents already in DocuWare?
  • RE: Export data to QuickBooks

Hello. Any new information about this? In particular, how can AP Automation be accomplished? Make.com may have the necessary steps to send the data to QB. https://www.make.com/en/integrations/quickbooks

There are 3rd party apps shown here https://quickbooks.intuit.com/app/apps/

We initially plan to export data in the csv format used by one of these apps. That app will then upload to QB but it is a manual batch process, not executed immediately.
  • FedRAMP Certification

The United States government may require that cloud services be FedRAMP approved. Does anyone have any information on this?

The list of services approved is here: https://marketplace.fedramp.gov/products

The certification process is described here: https://www.fedramp.gov/agency-authorization/

General information is available here: https://www.fedramp.gov/program-basics/

We look forward to this discussion. Best regards.

  • RE: DocuWare integration with Microsoft Power Apps

Thanks Tobias. Yes, I am using the new Knowledge Center. I can now add metadata specific to the Acrobat Sign document being processed (for example, Account Number) by inserting two steps in the Power Automate flow. First a Compose Data operation and then an Initialize Variable. The variable is then used when storing the document in DocuWare.
  • RE: DocuWare integration with Microsoft Power Apps

The Power Automate connector available since June 2024 (only in DocuWare Cloud) creates many possibilities. Perhaps we should discuss its use in a dedicated section. These links provides basic information: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/docuware/ and https://help.docuware.com/#/home/94045/2/2. If someone has other suggested references they will be welcome.

As an example of a use case, we are storing in DocuWare documents that are processed in Adobe Acrobat Sign. Documents flow to DocuWare file cabinets and are indexed with a few fields. We need to capture additional metadata, however, and that is where we need help.
  • RE: DocuWare and Power BI-1544088171

Hello, Jean. Admin IQ looks good. There is also this solution presented at DocuWorld Americas 2024: https://weareintuitive.com/process-management/intuitive-for-docuware/

The contact person in USA is jodi.lindner@ecoprintq.com

    Regards.

  • RE: DocuWare integration with Microsoft Power Apps

Hello, Tobias. Thank you for the detailed response. We suspected the OAuth 2.0 authentication might be a problem but I hoped perhaps the user would be forced to log into the on-premise system each time a document was to be stored or once per session. Since that is not the case, I guess the dwcontrol route is appropriate. To you knowledge, is adding OAuth 2.0 to the API in the pipeline?

We might also add a Cloud 4 DocuWare account and have the incoming documents go there and then synchronize with the local system. For search and retrieval from within Power Apps to the local system do you think URL Integration will work?

Finally, when you indicate "Also you could use Webhooks to send information from DocuWare to a webhook on the Power Platform and process it there" are you referring to search and retrieval or also to storing documents?

Regards.
  • RE: DocuWare integration with Microsoft Power Apps

This page explains how to build a custom connector that user the REST API. It seems the way to go. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/custom-connectors/

  • RE: DocuWare integration with Microsoft Power Apps

The Power Apps system is developed using the Model-driven, not the Canvas approach.
