Redact a part of a field after Stamp/workflow

HI Folks,
I have a need to redact a field for Credit Card on a document that has been stored.  Workflow will be used for the approval stamp, then they want the Credit card field to either be fully redacted or partially redacted.  The document is a form, so I know i'd have to make it editable and a merge form.
Does anyone know if this can be done and how.

currently there is no way of redacting a part of a document automatically. This could be done manually, by placing an annotation and merging annotations with the document.

As the document is a form it might be an idea to create a separate merge form, which does not have the credit card data visible.
