We are in the planning phase. DocuWare 6.12 On-Premise has not yet been installed.

The service account to install will be a named account (my own name) as required by the customer.  After implementation, an administrator account will be created or used.

This article seems straight forward enough.

But is this a good practice?  So the DW system is built under X user. Now we change the services to run under Y user. Can Z user expect to be able to adminstrate DocuWare successfully? I have had bad experiences in the past and always needed to login under the installing service account to see things like Import Jobs.

The DocuWare Service user - that is the Windows user defined under services can be changed. This user is not related to the database or user the DocuWare Administrative user.
