Behavior:
When attempting to open the Workflow Designer application, I receive the following error:
"The user with security identifier 'SID' is unknown"
Reinstalling the application does not fix the issue.
Solution:
These behaviors may have occurred due to an issue within the Secure folder, found at "C:\ProgramData\DocuWare\Desktop." The Secure folder stores information about user connections to DocuWare Desktop Apps. If users frequently connect to multiple cloud systems or log in with different accounts, it is common for multiple connections to accumulate, which can sometimes result in corruption.

The Secure folder stores information about user connections to DocuWare Desktop Apps. If users frequently connect to multiple cloud systems or log in with different accounts, it is common for multiple connections to accumulate, which can sometimes result in corruption.
To resolve this issue, the Secure folder must be recreated. Please refer to the following guide on how to recreate the Secure Folder.
1. The Secure folder cannot be renamed if DocuWare modules are running in the background. Before attempting to rename the Secure folder, force close the DocuWare.Desktop and DocuWare.WindowsExplorerClient apps via the Task Manager.
2. Navigate to C:\ProgramData\DocuWare\Desktop and rename the Secure folder to "SecureOld."
3. Open Services as an admininstrator and locate DocuWare Desktop Service. Right-click it, and select restart. This action will prompt DocuWare to automatically create a new Secure folder.

4. Since the new Secure folder will be empty, you will need to re-establish your Desktop Apps connection. This can be done in two ways:
From the DocuWare Web Client:
Use the Connect to Desktop Apps option.

From DocuWare Desktop Apps:
Use Create a default connection within the Desktop Apps interface.

After performing these steps, you should be able to access the Workflow Designer app.
