Revoke automatic opening of new tasks

Hi Masudi, 

what do you want the system to do instead?
Configure the respective activity, for example "Time Delay" or "Wait for event" in the workflow.
Maybe I can give a more helpful answer if you describe your problem in more detail.

Thank you for your response. My complaint is not from the workflow side. I do know that we can use time delays to delay a task from being received by the end users but my complaint is related to multiple instances of a workflow. Lets say I have 20 tasks in my task list pending my approval. Immediately I click on the task it opens up the document in the viewer. Once I have seen the content and decided to approve that through the dialogs, it immediately triggers the next task in my task list and opens up the next document. So how do I prevent this from happening because users get confused sometimes especially if the documents are similar they wonder whether they are on the previous document or its moved to a new document that needs approval. Users are not very tech savvy so they would like the document viewer to be empty after they approve a particular task and not until they open the new task that's when the next document should appear. I hope this helps.

thank you for your detailed explanation.
As far as I know, this is currently (7.8) not a setting you can configure, it is just the default behaviour.
Maybe you can create a Uservoice Request for implementation of a setting for this.

Hi Masudi,

I know only one configuration setting, which will help you hopefully.

Open up the web configuration, navigate to file cabinets, open the file cabinet of your task, navigate to dialogs and here to the result list which is set in the workflow designer of the respective workflow, scroll to the bottom, click on More options, disable/uncheck the option "Show document - Open first document of the result list automatically".

If the first option is already disabled, which is, as far as I know, not the default setting, I don't have any other ideas in this topic unfortunately.
