Does the Local Data Connector have to be installed on the same server as the database?  If not, how far can it see?  eg. does the db server have to be on the same network as the LDC or can it be a completely different cloud server?

Jon,
It can see as far as you allow it to. For example, if you can create a connection to a database using Windows ODBC tools, then you can also connect the LDC. There is nothing special about it. You need to supply a resolvable address to the database server. As I said, if you create a standard ODBC connection using Windows standard tools then the LDC should connect. The underlying technology is .NET.

I have a request from a potential customer asking for information to help him understand the "the security implications" of the DocuWare Local Data Connector before he will let me install it on his computer.
Can you direct me to a document that specifically addresses the Desktop Apps download package and the Local Data Connector within ?
