• Copy values between file cabinets.

Autoindex is the only DocuWare module that can be automated to do what you want. You could use the Platform API if you have the required programming skills available to you. Any other method would be outside of DocuWare and not recommended or supported.

  • URL Integration

    Joe,

I get the same result. Result List = All documents meeting my search criteria. Download = First document found and it is a PDF.
I have a feeling that since the behavior exists for 7, 6.12, and 6.11 at least then it was changed on purpose - or - it was changed by accident and no-one noticed. I'll follow up and come back on this.

  • Copy values between File Cabinets.

When you sat database, I assume that you mean file cabinets. Since you have the invoice number and check field number in both file cabinets, After the Check is cut and the Check number field is populated, you can run an AutoIndex workflow to select from the Invoice file cabinet where the Check Number is empty, and match it on the Check file cabinet. When the invoice number is found in the check cabinet, the check number can be written to the invoice file cabinet.
With DocuWare 7 it is also possible to use Instant Autoindex, where immediately the Check number is filled in the check number can be transferred to the Invoice file cabinet.

  • Port Scanning.

    David,
The issue is that they are saying the DocuWare Server actively scanning the ports. DocuWare is an application. It is likely to be Windows scanning those ports, or some other app.
A simple netstat command will tell you what ports are open, and what PID is using them. For example, in my VM port 135 is open by Windows Service host - not DocuWare.
I would suggest that they run:

    netstat -abno

and look at what PID is accessing the ports. You will find that it is not DocuWare but Windows - except for the DocuWare ports.

  • David,You specifically said

    David,
You specifically said port scanning. I assumed that the customer was detecting a port scan attack.
Simply because the ports are in use on the server does not mean that DocuWare has them open. Perhaps a more detailed analysis is called for.
DocuWare does not use port 21 (FTP) - except for REQUEST transfer if defined, 23 (Telnet), 135 (RPC locator), 139 (Netbios), 389 (LDAP) - Unless running an LDAP user sync, 445 (Directory services), 3128 (Squid caching), 3389 (RDP).

80 (HTTP), 1433 (MSSQL) are directly accessed.
8080 only if defined as an IIS port for DocuWare.

  • Security alerts.

    David,
This is certainly not normal for DocuWare. If it was, then it would have been happening since day one. You indicate that it is the last few weeks.
It sounds very odd to me since the scanning is hitting well known ports.

  • Instant AIX

    Jon,
I don't think you can rely on it. My take is it depends on the Trigger condition. How can you be 100% sure that the indexes are changed in the order you want? What if the indexes were modified in such a way that the 4th Triggered but 1, 2, and 3 had not because they did not meet the Trigger conditions?
Now perhaps you have that all planned out where that cannot happen, so the answer to the question is each time an AIX is triggered it goes in to the Task Process list. This is a fifo list. Theoretically, task 1 will be processed before task 2. But if for some reason task 1 cannot be processed it will be flagged for retry and task 2 executed. Also consider that the process may be multi-threaded and will grab several tasks at a time.

As I said, I would not rely on it.

  • Intelligent indexing quota

When a document hits the Intelligent indexing tray, the first 5 and last 5 pages are used to find index data. When a multipage document is unclipped or unstapled, all documents created from the unclip/staple are sent to Intelligent indexing and affect the quota.
So if you put a 20 page document in to the tray 1 document is sent to Intellix and affects quota. If you now unclip/staple it to 20 individual documents, 21 documents will affect quota.

  • DocuWare 7 Updates.

    Gilles,
There are 2 version numbers. There is a Setup Version and a Build Version. If you inspect an MSI properties then you will see the Setup Version. After installation in Configuration > About you will see the Build version.
So for Update 2018-11-07, the Setup Version is 7.0.0.8475.0, and the  Build version is 7.0.0.8450.

In future, the PDF that ships with the Update will have a header line that provides the above information.
