DateDiff Function
Ok. Let's try to reassign the variable on the fly:
CINT(DateDiff("d",This_Date,That_Date))
Will convert the LONG result to an integer.
CSTR((DateDiff("d",This_Date,That_Date))
to convert to a string.

DateDiff Function
DateDiff requires 2 dates and will return a long value. Ensure that GV_Start_Date and GV_End_Date are Date Type variables and not string variables. Also, you are using Weeks and if the result is less than a week then I think DateDiff will return 0.

Upgrade and install on a new server.
No you can't. I have not even looked at that with 7. I would upgrade the existing server to DocuWare 6.12. Install DB V2 from 6.12 on the new server, along with Authentication server. Backup and restore the 6.12 database from the old server. Drop the empty databases on the new server, restore the production db's on the new server. Run 6.12 setup on the new server, replace the auth server and install all other services.
Then upgrade the new server to 7.
Got it? :)Addendum! You coulld follow the above procedure with 7. Simply run the database V2 msi file from the 7 distribution. Apart from that follow the steps outined above. It is important to upgrade the existing production server, then move to the new server.

DocuWare on a domain controller.
There is a very good reason for the warning. Basically it is a very poor practise to run a software application on the infrastructure server(s). The DC is there to provide infrastructure and security. If the software application brings down the infrastructure server, or compromises security then the company could well be dead in the water. Basically, DocuWare is saying you have been warned. Caveat Emptor.

File Management
Melody,
What version of DocuWare?
Current releases allow you to sort the documents on the following:
Type
Name
Created On
Modified On
Source
StatusEach of the options allow you to sort ascending or descending. The default is likely just the order that DocuWare has delivered them to your basket.
Look for the Up/Down arrow in the basket bar, and select Sort by Name. This setting should stick and make more sense for you.Phil Robson

Editing multiple index entries.
Quite possible, but without investigation I cannot say. We need details.

Touch / Mouse mode.
David,
DocuWare is tablet aware and is in Touch mode. You can simply turn off Touch mode by going to the settings (the grey cog to the right of the user name) and checking / unchecking Touch/Mouse mode.
That will present the web client as a desktop in the manner you are seeking.Phil Robson
