• Clipped document flag

    Brian,
There used to be with DocuWare 4, and I think it is still used with DocuWare 5+. I will have to look. What do you need it for - if I might ask?

  • AD sync with DocuWare.

DocuWare does not transfer passwords from AD. In fact, DocuWare is not interested in the users Windows password. When you synchronize users with AD you specify that it creates a network Id. This is in the Windows 2000 format: domain_name\User name.

You can also, speficy that DocuWare creates a fixed password for each user for use with the DocuWare sign on, or an arbitrary 32 characters password. Most user select and specify a fixed password for all uers initially.
Once you have sunchronized, and created the network Id in the users record, then you can use Windows Authentication (single sign on) to log in to DocuWare in On-Premise systems.

  • Import jobs

Terry, the list of import jobs are held under the Windows Security ID of the user who created them. Have you logged in to the test environment as that user? If not, then they will not appear.

  • Select list entries.

  • SQL Cluster.

When creating an SQL cluster a virtual server is created. It is the virtual server that is addressed by applications such as DocuWare. In this way it appears to the clients as a single server even there may be many in the cluster.

  • SQL Database encryption

    Craig,
Our Cloud service runs on MS Azure which is an encrypted environment. There are no known limitations with DocuWare as the encryption/decryption is perfomed by the SQl server.

Just ignore it then. It makes no difference if an unwanted and inactive service is referecned in the Admin program. Don't paddle in the database. Just leave it alone. If you MUST have it removed, please create a support request and we will remove it for you.

  • Upgrade simulation

    Connie,
It sounds like an artifact of a previously created and then deleted workflow. I think you can safely ignore the error and proceed to upgrade.

  • Managing disk space.

DocuWare makes no recommendation on how the disk space is managed. We use the Windows file system just as any other application does. The subject may be better researched with Microsoft.
Once a document is stored, there is no post processing of documents provided. We consider the stored document to be an archive and not changable by any automated process.
Be aware, that while it is a feasible exercise to have some software developed that can process the documents in place, there are a great many things to consider.
Are they images or PDF's? Changing the dpi will significantly change the behavior of annotations and stamps. Fulltext will not longer work find and highlight words in the document.
Therefore such an exercise would need to be carefully executed.
