• Index filter.

An index filter is exactly what I said needs to be done with an associated profile that controls the edit/read rights.

  • DocuWare lock table.

    Juan,
Do not, under any circumstances attempt to manipulate DocuWare's internal database tables.
You cannot have a mix of rights based on a document status. Rights are allocated via profiles. I understand that the customer may want to see them all in one list, but you cannot do that, so thet need to consider some flexibility within DocuWare's architecture.

  • CD Request

    Steve,
You cannot import DocuWare 4 or 5 CD Request documents in to DocuWare 6.12.
This will need to be done manually in a similar fashion from moving from a DocuWare 4 system to a DocuWare 6.12 system. Since there are no internal index values in a DocuWare 6.12 system, the header records of the CD Request disks cannot be read in. So the documents have to be brought in using an interim DocuWare version, and it is a completely manual operation.
Please contact Professional Services as they have the ability to do this for the customer.

  • Connection error.

    Terry,
Please cease all activities on the VM clone and open a Support Request urgently. Part of your DocuWare system is likely pointing at the production system and you are running the risk of compromizing your installation.
We need to check this with you to ensure the clone is properly renamed and reconfigured and has no access to the production system.

  • Prevent changes to a document

    Juan,
There may be a better way, but I think that creating filtered dialogs may work for this. You would have a search dialog that only retrieves documents that are not approved. The associated profile would allow all editing.
Then create another dialog for approved documents. The associated profile would have no editing rights at all.

  • Duplicating documents.

    Thomas,
There is no automatic mechanism in DocuWare to duplicate records within the same file cabinet.
If the document is already stored then you will need to copy it to a tray and then store it again changing the index values as needed.
If the document is not already stored, you can store the first copy and uncheck the "Delete from document tray" option. This will leave the document in the tray, with the index information that was entered in the first storage. Then you can store it again and change the index information and delete it from the tray.

To automate this process, you could have Professional Services develop a custom function for you.

  • Free Query

    Casey,
It is looking for a WHERE clause, without the word WHERE. Same syntax as used in dialogs, filters etc.
    DOCUMENT_TYPE = "Payroll Change"

    For example.

  • DocuWare Printer

    Hameed,
If you want the document kept as a Word document then do not print it. DocuWare Printer is a PDF printer and all documents processed by it will result in PDF's. No printer can possibly give you a document in the format it was created in.
You can simply drag & drop the word document in to a tray, use DocuWare Windows Explorer client, or DocuWare Import. Those methods will preserve your document type.

  • Forms

    Craig,
We recognize this as a problem. It is addressed with DocuWare 7.0. There currently is no work-around.

  • Autoindex jobs in the Cloud

    Steve,
Currently the AI jobs schedule is executed in UTC time, not you local time. This is likely why you see a discrepancy. This will be addressed in 7.0.
