  • DocuWare Americas Support availability

Due to the storm today - Wednesday March 7th 2018, the New Windsor and Wallingford support departments are severely limited in providing support. Travel conditions are extremely hazardous and forecasted to be dangerous by mid-day.
We appologize for any inconvenience and will address urgent issues as soon as practical.

  • Recognition

Are you using the Windows Client? It sounds like it. Recognition will only work on Back & White TIFF documents. After you brin the TIFF in to the Windows Client Basket, you must select the document and then from the context menu select Run Recognition.

Also, I have to assume you have been using 5.1c for some time. Is this simply an  installation on a new workstation or a completely new installation at a customer?

  • DocuWare Business

DocuWare Business Server is limited to one logical disk of 4.3GB per file cabinet. It has always had that restriction.

  • Service user account.

The DocuWare Service user - that is the Windows user defined under services can be changed. This user is not related to the database or user the DocuWare Administrative user.

  • Blank Screen.

I think the ghot fix you need is already installed, there is a config file change that needs to be made. Deleting and recreating the user will reset things. Remeber to clear the browser cache before logging in to DocuWare again.

  • DocuWare Viewer in new Window.

Is this an On-Premise or Cloud customer? If On-Premise, we do have a hot fix for a blank window. However, the hot fix also requires a change to a config file so you will need to open a support request so that we can assist with the change. If it is a Cloud customer, then we will also need you to open a support request so we can invesitgate that behavior.

If your settings are held in a local cookie (other than the database) then clearing the local cache should default things back. If they are in the database then we will need to assist. Having said all that, I think a Support Request is the fastest way to a solution.

  • DocuWare Install

I don't recall that being a problem with 6.9., try installing the VCRedist64.exe from the VCRedist folder in the distribution.
The re-run setup. If that fails try following this FAQ.
