what kind of validation are you creating? The old DLL based validation (page 22) is discontinued with version 7 (available up to version 6.12) and only web service based validation is possible afterwards.

There is an option when creating the stamp input field to use a select list. Then the user can choose entries from that list.

if both fields have the same name, then you can create one stamp changing this field. The stamp will then be available everywhere in DocuWare (Document Trays, all file cabinets).

no, this option was not removed. There should be no difference between an upgraded or a new installed DocuWare system. Please check if you have a "User Input" added to the stamp on the tab "Designer". If you do not have a "User Input" then the user input cannot be configured.

if you have checked out the document to the file system and removed the password protection you can put the file back to a document tray and then check it in again. When checking out to file system it is important to not change the file name as this is the only connection between the file and the original version in the file cabinet.
You could also use the edit functionality inside the file cabinet or document tray (depends on your rights) to open the document directly from there and save it. After closing the application it will be automatically uploaded to the original location. Depending on your file cabinet settings the new file replaces the original file or is added as a new version.
